- The Merry Blacksmiths are a young traditional band from Santa Paula, California. Led by Max Becher, the band plays the dance music of Ireland and Scotland, as well as some tunes written by members of the band. The band has been together since October of 2002. They are, for the most part, completely self-taught. Band members range in age from 13 to 15.
